Temple Shalom - William & Charlotte Bloomberg Jewish Community Center, is seeking a part-time office manager to work 20 hours per week, schedule as mutually agreed, compensated at $18 hourly. Benefits include 2 weeks paid vacation and the following paid holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July.

This Office Manager position provides front desk and office support regarding all things related to the operational success of Temple Shalom including membership relations, bills and payroll, database management, filing, social media and website support, advertising, administrative assistance with our nursery school, summer camp and Religious School, as well as special projects. This position serves as the first point of contact at the synagogue for both phone and in person connections.

POSITION SCHEDULE:
20 Hours per week on a regular schedule, exact times are negotiable

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Interact positively with all visitors to our synagogue
• Field phone calls, and direct them to the appropriate person and/or answer questions
• Disseminate information clearly and concisely between clergy, lay leadership, Board of Directors, religious school, nursery school, camp and members
• Process and track donations
• Prepare various correspondence
• Oversee Payroll for synagogue, religious school, nursery school and summer camp
• Accounts payable and receivable using Quickbooks
• Maintain membership and yarzheit databases and annual membership directory
• Maintain files for the synagogue office
• Clerical assistance for religious school, nursery school, and summer camp
• Prepare synagogue mailings
• Maintain and order office and building supplies
• Assist with production and distribution of monthly digital newsletter
• Website maintenance
• Maintain the Synagogue’s social media presence
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and in a distributed team environment
• Advanced knowledge of Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, Publisher), Google Suite (specifically Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets), as well as membership database platform
• Excellent organizational skills with a very strong attention to detail and an eye for accuracy
• Familiarity and comfort with various social media platforms
• Ability to self-manage time and meet required deadlines
• Respond to multiple requests in an organized and timely manner
• Sensitive and compassionate towards our congregants and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Familiarity with synagogue life preferred
• The candidate must successfully clear a Criminal Offenders Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check.

Performance will be reviewed after six months of employment. Performance and compensation will be reviewed annually. Temple Shalom is an equal opportunity employer.
